(Weekly news filter, in case you missed anything. We know that ‘Notables‘ section is a little inconspicuous.)
Not much news this week but here are the things that caught our attention.
“I just want to do hood-rat things with my friends”
This shit is just wrong. Check out the rims on that G-ma’s Durrango. Basically this kid steals his granny’s ride and parades around town, crashing into cars and basically fucking up. Check it. Priceless. [ Missbehave ]
SRO sucks
That seems to be the consensus from the comments in our berating of the new …

Feed the Hungry
FREE RICE!! Awesome little vocabulary game that helps give rice to poor hungry people in other countries. Sounds perplexing I know. Go check it out if you have a HEART. [the little dish]
Awesome Destroyer Track
There is a new Destroyer track floating around the interweb. It’s a vinyl rip from Merge’s free 7″ they dropped at various record stores for Record Store day this past weekend. We tried to swing by Good Records, but coupled with their birthday party celebration, it was a mad house. Go get the track at [So Much Silence]
WatchYou
What if we told you that you could film something and have it put into the Watchmen film? Is that something you’d be interested in? YouTube
Evil Urges
For those without the means, download the title track off of My Morning Jacket’s so fresh album. It’s free. It’s from the band themselves. They even wrote y’all a note. Swell fellas. [MMJ]

Citizen Simpson
For anyone who’s a fan of the Simpson’s and film. (Should be everyone in the world.) Check out the frame-by-frame list of all their homages(?) to movies. Our current faves include Dracula, The Lost Boys and Cape Fear. Although it changes every minute. [Neenja]
Feist Daughters
We totally slept on this short interview Subterranean did with Patrick “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop” Daughters concerning “I Feel It All“. We on the other hand, feel all the …

Walton vs. Ferrell
Oh snaps, everyone’s favorite douchebag announcer/father/old-school baller Bill Walton took his gargantuan facial features and got schooled by Will Ferrell. Don’t tell us Ferrell’s good at dodging fans, AND shooting the perimeter? [Dogs That Chase Cars]
Ripoff Gondry?
Did Gondry watch an old Nickelodeon show and use that idea to make Be Kind, Rewind? I seriously doubt it, but good work digging this up ‘Cole. Did we mention she’s our newest blog to read daily? Bookmark and enjoy kiddos! [This Is CyNicole]
12 Rounds vs. The Oscars
Probably the closest you’d get to an SRO live blogging of the Academy Awards. Also, why aren’t more of you pissed that Fincher didn’t get shit for Zodiac? [Skeet On Mischa]
Crash Course In Comics
Since so many movies are now hitting the Comic Book shelves for inspiration, for once in your life get ahead of the curve and check out Whitney Matheson’s 4-part series on Comics. It’s written by a girl, so no one has an excuse not to take a gander and learn something. [Pop Candy]
Music: An Appreciation
I think this is what most music blogs started out as or aspired to, until ad revenue and cool points came into the picture. More than that though, Moka is all about art and taking a smart stance. “For the Sake of the Song” is just one example of many posts that more than qualify as a quality read. Also, they just graduated to ‘.com’ status, so congrats on that Bubbachups and Squashed. [Motel De Moka]
Oscar Winning Stripper
Diablo Cody isn’t joking when it comes to her ex-stripper status. Do you really think she cares that we’ve seen her ‘trophies’? [Egostastic]

Lindsey Lohan Takes It Off
I wonder who else has celebrated their newfound sobriety like LiLo. By getting naked? We’re still counting the freckles. NSFW [The Superficial]
Indiana Jones Trailer
Just a reminder if you’ve been in Mexico, or maybe up in the Canadas for the last week, the Indiana Jones 4 trailer hit the street and is ready to be viewed in all it’s unsatisfying, HD glory. Go team. [via the Interweb]
Fuck Off Spike Jonze?.
TDamn WB! You’ve been looking good ever since 300 and dropping the H-bomb on HD-DVD. But what’s this you’re fucking with Spike Jonze’s version of Where The Wild Things Are? Say it ain’t so. [CHUD]
Music Sounds Better With Touch
Remember that Daft Punk/Kanye Grammy performance that you missed? Well, here’s where the DP got their mind-blowing touch screen ridiculousness from. Buy us one and we’ll do a post on you. [Jazz Mutant]
New M. Night Shyamalan Trailer
I guess I have been under a rock for the past week, because somehow this slipped past me. I’ve always been fan of man’s work, despite what others might say about him. The trailer for ‘The Happening’ is out and looks decent. Walberg just might make this one a winner. Oh and when did the stop-gap get pulled form the apocalyptic-movie-storage-bottle. These things are just coming at us left and right. [via Pelican's Perch]
Akira Comes To Life
Apparently the sacred holy grail of anime has finally been tapped by the move gods for a remake. Not one, but two films are in the works, both will be live action remakes I might add. Leo C. is involved so my hopes are up a bit, but why mess with a classic? [via SlashFilm]

Tweak Bird From Above
Tired of listening to that old DFA1979 album again? Want to know who else out there slays it aside from Queens of the Stone Age? Maybe you need a little Tweak Bird in your life. Hell, even Buddyhead loves ‘em! [Skeet On Mischa]
There Will Be Shakes?
Nice going Paramount. Way to take one of 2007’s best films, and market it like a radio station. Maybe we’re just jealous, because a free milkshake …

Mexican Wrestling, No Jack Black In Sight
I couldn’t help but share this with our loyal readers. I’ve never been a fan of wrestling in general but if I was going to get into it, this is the wrestling I would be all about. Paul is giving away some …

Vampire Weekend, take a side
Well the day has come and gone, and sides have been taken. The consensus being that the blog world hates it, and Pfork loved it. It seems that this situation of super-hype always works out the same. It’s either/or. I think it boils down to being fashionable. Either the blogsphere hates on it because Pfork loved it, or Pfork hates on it, just start up some typical blogger rage. Horse-shit either way. I told you I loved this band forever ago and I’m sticking with it. [Too many to tell you]
Cloverfeild – The Mix
If you are dying to know what songs were being played at the hipster party during the opening scenes of Cloverfield, we have you covered. Well the Hypeful actually has you covered. [Hypful]
Radiohead on Later, with…Jools Holland
Just a heads up if you didn’t know. Radiohead will perform on the 200th celebratory episode of Later…with Jools Hooland. Check your local listings if want to catch it. It broadcasts on BBC 2 and other fine stations across the world. [Radiohead news]
STG’s video contest for the ages
Oh shit! StG has a right proper Music Video Contest in the works! You got one week kids! [Said The Gramophone]
My sentiments of Juno exactly (or almost).
This is exactly how I felt about Juno, minus a few degrees of harshness. The line he quotes between Ryan Wilson and Ellen Page made with squeamish;
Wilson: “Your eggo is preggo, no doubt about it!”
Page: “Silencio! I just drank my weight in Sunny D, and I have to go, pronto!”
