A few Thursday nights back, those kind, yet clever, fellows over at Nerdcore decided to drop their annual geek-sex Calendar we’ve been fans of. Rather than just announce it online, they decided to blow it out at, of all places, a comic store. Oh, but as you should know by now, these guys do it in style and it wasn’t just some random comic store. It was Golden Apple over on Melrose in Los Angeles. And what better way to mix things up than with the classic party trick: Free Booze!

Hello loyal readers. I know you’ve all been itching for some updates here at SRO so I’m here to inform you about our status. Due to the holidays and some of us moving states, SRO will continue to be slow throughout the rest of the year. Things to be looking for though: our year-end list of the top videos which will show it’s head sometime soon, and also a year-end podcast featuring the best songs of 2007. We will also try to post here and there but I can’t guarantee anything. So happy holidays kids. Go buy stuff. Spend some time with your family. Send us Christmas cards.

Well it’s that time of year again. Marked by heavy drinking and gift giving, two things that are staples of the SRO staff diet. And, since we realize heavy drinking is an easy skill to master, we decided to once again guide our loyal readers to the ideal gifts for your friends and family this season. You don’t have to be a hipster to shop here, our gifts transcend all monikers and classifications. So don’t hesitate, read up and then get out that web browser and start shopping.

Also, if any of you out there have some killer ideas to add, leave us a link in the comments and we will entertain adding them to the list if they delight us. With credit given to you of course. So let us know what we missed that you love!

So I guess someone over at the new Hey Neilsen site decided to include us in some voting scheme for best music blog or something. The website is an offshoot of the Neilson Tv rating people and I’m guessing they are trying to get the word out by running this contest and including a bunch of music blogs, therefore getting them to link back to the site itself. Either way, we have been included so go get your vote on and say something nice about our site. Please.

Sorry folks but will be out of our offices over the holiday weekend. Content will likely resume on Wednesday so don’t despair. I dare any of you though; try and have as much fun as this guy above. That kid’s having the time of his life. Send us a picture of it and we might just give you something cool.

So this weekend SRO is heading down to the ‘birth place of the summer’, San Diego, to cover/enjoy/bask in the nerdness that is the Comic-Con. We will definitely have some in depth photographic coverage of the event and maybe even some quality videos of the Con in action. If you haven’t been, downtown San Diego gets crazy, Sodom and Gomorrah style, so be ready for some entertaining clips and shots.
