Even though we had some tough love for DCFC’s latest release Narrow Stairs, we’re still very interested to see how the boys support it in the music video realm.

Here at SRO we love hearing from directors, be it to yell at us for berating their work, or to inform us of interesting facts about their videos. It’s been awhile since we’ve done a proper interview on the site, so it’s with great pleasure I present to you a relative newcomer to the game, Manny Marquez. I’d advise those who are squeamish not to fear the length of this interview, as each different answer is an insight into a world that many are trying to break into as well as a look at the blood, sweat, and tears that goes into directing something with substance and quality. On the outside this may look like an effects-laden piece, but from the inside, this is an intricate project that anyone with an understanding of production can look at and take away some value. There is a fine line between genius and insanity, and Lung at Perish Factory knows how to straddle both sides of the fence at the same time. Inherently, he has made an extremely simple video, complicated. Everyone love’s it and he doesn’t even seem to care. We came to him wondering about his inspirations and passion for music videos and this is what we got.
