Feist – Honey, Honey
(Anthony Seck)

Well here we are again with Leslie Feist. You know it’s never really a bad day when it begins with a Feist video. Granted this may not be the most entertaining video, but let’s think about this. This is the 4th video off of The Reminder. There really isn’t any topping its popularity since “1,2,3,4″, so there won’t be any huge interest in whatever single they want to put out next. Not saying that this is a sub par video or project. Just saying that because it isn’t for a lead single or the album sales aren’t hinging on the popular success of the video itself, the situation lends itself some breathing room to be a little more abstract or arty.
Hence, we find Feist without her boy P Daughty, branching out to Anthony Seck. Now, maybe most of you haven’t heard of him and/or think of him as a relative newcomer. Well, for the record we’ll give you a run down of who this “nobody” has dealt with behind-the-scenes:
Artists he has worked with include;
Feist
Tom Noonan
Basia Bulat
Ewan McGregor
Tom Green
Broken Social Scene
David Alexanian
Stars
Clea Duvall
Amy Millan
Kinnie Starr
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
The Be Good Tanyas
Not bad, huh? Although, it’s almost expected from a Canadian to somehow be involved with half of those bands. To be honest, I’m kinda surprised Seck hasn’t recorded with or shot something for Wolf Parade. Anyways, I digress. Here we have a slow dance of a track with “Honey, Honey”. Maybe I would’ve rather she put out “The Park” or “Brandy Alexander”, but “Honey, Honey” is cool. It’s a slower side of Feist, but not a softer one. If anything, the girl’s got a knack for writing out her hurt to playful little tunes. In this case, she just waded in the music, rather than sneak through it.
Although, we get nothing much more than a glimpse of Miss Feist, it’s still a worthwhile effort put forth with the help of The Old Trout Puppet Workshop. While one might think little puppets would make for a lackluster shot, especially when married with a slower song, you’d be surprised what Seck and The Old Trouts have in store. Check it and learn something.
