Video Round Up

video round up

Writers note: In the future please include the director’s names with the video. Just trying to give credit where credit is due.

4th Place: Fuck Dress - Suburban Nietzsche Freak
(Dir: Fuck Dress)

I tried to write something about the video but this guy Adam is a word-magician “It has dancing priests and Radiohead in it….” Done!

3rd Place: Show Stoppas - Whoop Rico

(Dir: ???)

Everyone knows my love of Soulja Boy but this video just isn’t as ridiculous as I would like it to be. Where is my little clay midget yelling at people?

2nd Place: Ra Ra Riot - Ghost Under Rock
(Dir: Brian Savelson)

This is exactly what I would do if I was trapped inside of a globe. I don’t think you have any other option. Everything after the 2:57 mark is gold. Love it or else!

1st: Wild Beasts - Brave Bulging Buoyant Clairvoyants
(Dir: OneInThree)

OneInThree are back and at it again with their crazy-awsomness. That’s right I said it. This video makes me feel like I’m stoned and cracked out at the same time. Don’t believe me watch the video and read this shit.

“This music video directed by OneInThree for ‘Wild Beasts’ second single of their debut album ‘Limbo Panto’ is a mesmerizing & hypnotic tour de force. It pioneers an amazing mind bending visual technique called the ‘Droste Effect’ which is based on an uncompleted lithograph that Escher made in 1956. The maths behind the lithograph was so complicated that Escher was unable to finish the center of the picture and so left it blank. OneInThree developed the technique from Josh Sommers code so that it could be applied to moving images and apart from a grade & online at The Mill did all the VFX themselves.” Done!

Love the story behind the Limbo Panto clip about the uncompleted lithograph that Escher made that was so complicated that Escher was unable to finish the center of the picture and so left it blank. Off to google that now!
