About these Hot Chip fellas. I’m not on board. From what we’ve heard, you just gotta see them live, which I can buy. But as for their style and personas, just not for me. Still, we’ll give you their newest video for “Wrestlers”.
On the hater side of the fence, let’s just say that you know you’ve got problems when the best part of your video is someone else’s cameo. Especially when it’s a cameo of someone standing around mugging for the camera. Granted, Murphy looks the shit when he’s applying the wrap to his hands, but heaven forbid Hot Chip (or Jackson) attempt to look un-nerdy.
And yeah fellas, we get that wrestling was cool in the late 80’s to early 90’s. We see what toys you’re playing with, we know. Which brings up a point. You’re video shows you playing with toys! It doesn’t even look like you’re into it. If you’re gonna pride yourself on playing with toys, so much that you’ll include it in your video, at least look like you’re actually doing it, rather than making it look like a set-up shot.
See kids, this is why I can’t get into Hot Chip’s visual appendage. I see the in-joke and I still don’t find it all that great. I’m sure those on the HC Train have their reasons, and I’m all for Hot C continuing on doing what they’re doing. I’m just sayin’, right now, this is the only Wrestler I really give a shit about these days.
