White Denim – Shake Shake Shake (Tom Haines)

Man this video has been put-up, then taken down. Then put back up, then taken back down. I tried to watch it twice over at GvsB, but each time I was a bit late. It’s like nobody want’s anybody to even see this thing. The label Full Time Hobby doesn’t want you to know about it. All you get when you go to their page is an automatic Fujiya & Miyagi song playing in the background, with no control to turn it off. No mention of this new video. Head over to director Tom Haines’ site, and while he doesn’t barrage you with unsolicited music, he doesn’t have a mention of this video either. Not even the mighty MySpace gives a hint that this clip even exists. This is all highly suspicious. (Damn I can’t even type/say those two words anymore without that horrible travesty of a MMJ song echoing in my ears.)

So, not sure what everyone was being so coy about. The video’s not half bad and does a great job at making the junkyard look like a place to be, rather than a place not to be. The song is short and therefore results in a short video that doesn’t test my attention span. We get to see all kinds of interesting characters get their shake on. There is vandalism and arson, fat chicks and a small child. What more do you want?

Get on this before someone out there keeps this promotional art from being seen again.
