Well it looks like Richard Ayoade has been tapped to be Vampire Weekend’s official video director. I know this only makes two…and while I was not quite sold with his last attempt for Oxford Comma, this time around he puts it down solid.

Basically the video takes a stab at the image of VP…a sharp stab at that. Their preppy, Cape Cod, sweaters-over-the-shoulder ascetic, is turned on it’s face. They emerge as dark and punky, like they just got back from a sale at Hot Topic, hair in their faces and ready for some tattoos. Richard Ayoade’s comedic background definitely shines through on this clip, giving us a good laugh and an even better video.
