SSLYBY - Modern Mystery (Brook Linder)

Not sure how I let this one slip by…I love SSLYBY. What we have here is a low budget paperboy battle that is carried out on land, underground, back to land, and then off to space. There’s a lot going on here and to push things to the limit, we also get treated to some campy effects and claymation. When was the last time you saw some claymation in a music video? No matter the medium, this is still a great song from a great album. The video is a well thought out, low budget attempt at telling a story about a paperboy and his encounter with a ‘Modern Mystery’. Makes me want to play some Paperboy, I’ll tell you that. That game was tough!

Oh and props to Brook Linder. This being his first video made on his way to film school this Fall.

Sorry about the YouTube. Pfork had it up and then they decided to mess things up so we are stuck with the Tube for the time being.

Pershing out now!

Glad to see our posting of the new SSLYBY video offered you some goodness. Do need to add however that Brook Linder is a young MAN who will begin film school this Fall.

Thanks Ole. Couldn’t find much info on the young man.

Not bad for someone not in film school yet! That also wasn’t the original recording of the song either. Nice live touch. I kinda thought the song was a little more beautiful than the campy idea it received, but it didn’t suck, so I guess that’s a positive.
