Tokyo Police Club – Citizens of Tomorrow

POLICE

It hurts to know that Tokyo Police Club had the time to create 4 music videos from their year old 7 song e.p. A Lesson In Crime rather than ditch at least one ((Canadian version for “Cheer It On”)) and get their full length out a bit sooner. Also, does this video count for A Lesson In Crime or will this be a single on the new album? Call me crazy, but wasn’t their last shot for “Your English Is Good” for a new song? Seriously, if we waited this long for a proper full length and half of it will be old shit, I’m telling you, bitches will be runnin’ wild up in here. No diggity.

Anywhoo, from the looks of things, the boys have definitely stepped things up in the visual aspect of their image, but don’t go patting them on the back just yet. For starters, it would appear that Mr. Davison is a fan of George Lucas’ first film, THX 1138. ((”LUC 1139″ flashes up now and then. The cast are sporting all white suits, filling up on weird pills, and the story characters rock the skinhead look.)) The man may have also been influenced by Patrick Daughters and Conor Oberst via the “Hot Knives” shot with all white suits and random projections in the background. Are white outfits and projections the new claymation and stop-motion? Hmm, interesting observation gumshoe.

Still, this video isn’t the worst thing in the world, and now we won’t have to give TPC as much shit for not throwing a visual onto one of their top joints. So grab yourself a coke and a smile and try not to laugh too hard at the Subterranean Blog for kicking around the whole “mind control/kidnapping subplot” theory. Its cute.

You have to click on his name/title of the song in order to view it. Oil factory has become wiser, but we’ll try and locate a lil something something soon.

Sorry Ant, if you dig deep enough you can find the quicktime, but they won’t let you direct link to it. Only from with-in their site, no out side referrals.
