Well, do you fancy yourself a director? A director of music videos perhaps? Then you need to be aware of the Radar Festival — a video competition held in London that promises glorious prizes and recognition for those who deserve it. It boils down to picking one of the sixteen tracks they have available and then writing and directing a treatment for it. Then you send it in and it gets shown at their festival/competiion. I know if I was an aspiring director I would be all over this. It’s only open to people who have never been paid for work as a music video directory, so don’t worry about our buddy Ace slipping in a treatment and ruining your chances at becoming a finalist. This is amateur on amateur, bring your A-game and prove that you have skills.

Summer is closing in on it’s final gasps of life and before everyone goes back to the grind with school and what not we thought we’d add another fond memory for you all to remember the summer of ‘007 by. Today’s dance track recommendation comes in the form of M.I.A. and really, what is a bangin’ dance party without a lil bit of M.I.A. coursing through the crowd? I’m always skeptical when it comes to her album artwork but once I finish with my pesky epileptic seizures I’m pleasantly surprised with some sweet sweet musical candy as a reward for stayin’ alive.

Dancing ‘Spoon’ inspired robot. WTF mate?
Published by Brian August 15th, 2007 in Knowledge and Music Video. 3 CommentsThe two things that we love the most around the offices of SRO are small, cute robots that dance, and Spoon. Finally they have come together with help of a mad scientist and programmer, Hideki Kozima”> and Marek Michalowski respectively. While not really ‘mad’ but rather just extremely intelligent, he has developed the Keepon robot, which makes all other previously reported dancing robots seem small time. This guy pulls of wiggles and shakes like no other — definitely something every lonely bachelor needs because this — like small puppies, expensive purses and sunshine — is something the ladies would love. Am I wrong? I’m sure that’s the whole inspiration behind Mr. Kozima’s studies, to get laid. What else to men go to school for? An education, which in turn secures a better job, leads to more money, ultimately making you more desirable — thus landing the girl of your dreams. Isn’t that how life works?
You know how Daft Punk slays it with their huge magical pyramid? Well, here’s a shot from the inside, where the view is just as sweet (if not complicated). Also, they’ve got a new live album coming out. Too bad it isn’t a dvd. [Pitchfork]
