So apparently Conor got the same memo from God that Davey Havok (AFI) did — the ‘new style’ (and by ‘new style’ I mean, dressed like the Flaming Lips from forever ago) is to dress everyone in all white and then play shows and film videos. Has anyone else noticed that if Conor gets his hair a little more ratty and maybe punches himself in the face a bit, him and Davey could probably pass for each other around town. Anyway, I’m actually a big fan of the color white — been know to sport shoes or pants of that color — but it just doesn’t seem to fit with Conor and his crew. A bit gimmicky maybe?
Cool it’s on YouTube.
Watching the video, Mr. Daughters obviously was out of ideas for this one, leaving us with a boring rendition of what it looks like to to see the band play live on their current tour. Our ‘insider’ from Dallas tells us that their new venue the Palladium, (which I might be wrong, but is owned by the dreaded Clear Channel, the one Conor has/had beef with, and vowed to never play their venues; hypocrite?), housed a show by Conor and crew, in which they dressed in all white and projected cool things like yarn, images, and colored fish-bowl water onto backgrounds and the band themselves. Great at the time, but a video of the same thing — kinda lame and effortless. The clip looks good, but money can do that and I expected more from Patrick, especially after his beautiful Feist video. But whatever, have a good weekend.
(Conor was so much better when he played like this. Mabye God will send him a new memo)
