Alrighty folks, the
Stripes have done and dropped their vision of Icky Thump on the people and it looks to be of the literal type. Equipped with the standard fine looking “Drummer” Meg White and the crazy looking “Senorita” Meg White, we follow Jack “Black Rebel Motorcycle” White as he stumbles his way through consciousness and unconciousness ala
Twain,
Carroll, and/or
Baum.

While we’re fully aware that this is a Music Video blog, you know we won’t hesitate to inform you of events or projects that are just too good to not speak up about. So, in our quest to keep you, our faithful readers, on the cool tip, we’d like to let you know about something that’s been bubbling up around our sphere that affects both the video world and the music world.

So does anybody remember Andre Ethier. His 2004 album With Christopher Sandes Featuring Pickles And Price was well received around the web; P-fork liked it and so did I. Well now that it’s 2007, his 2006 album Secondathallam was brought to my attention — hey we all forget about certain friends — along with this video. So in an attempt to repent, I decided to give his clip a little shake and show. It’s all about Andre monk-ing around a beach and forest, trying to convince us all not to kill ourselves because of the world’s oppression. For such a serious topic, the video makes no attempt at seriousness, but instead treats us to a quaint little parody that is sure to delight. I hear somebody is making a Will Ferrell movie under the same premise.

We knew it was coming. The follow up to 50 Cent’s “Magic Stick” and “Candy Shop” is entitled “Amusement Park”. Wow. They aren’t even trying anymore these days. Snatch the new hottness over at [Idolator]

Ahhh,
Ben Dickinson, that sly sonofabitch! Here we are distracted (still) by his work with
The Rapture and even
LCD Soundsystem, meanwhile he was out readying us up another party time shot hosted by those dastardly diablos of dance,
!!!. Much like Daughter’s skill with the performance videos, Dickinson kills it with the dance infused party anthems. And, much like Daughters, we are more than grateful for it.

If you took a knife and split
The Blow in half, you’d find yourself with one part we in-the-know call,
YACHT. Now, if you took that part, which we call
YACHT and put a man named
Matt McCormick, who’s cared for bands such as
The Shins and
Sleater-Kinney, in charge of
YACHT you’d find yourself immersed in a story of a lost penny in Portland, OR. Don’t ask me why.
