To hate, or not to hate PB&J, that is the question. At least on the music side of the playground. While most are riding high a-top that bandwagon happily (including a few of us over here at the SRO) there are some who are crazy pissed 1 over the accolades and good reviews this particular gang of whistling Scandinavians have earned.
So to add our usual fuel to the fire of debate, we belatedly toss out the newer shot for PB&J’s single “Objects of My Affection”. This too is a tough one to decipher, though not in the idea per se, but in the achievement of it.
Ironically, from the first misstep that Pete takes, so does the video, causing us to pretty much side with 30frames concerning his diatribe on accomplishing what was originally set out to be done. The video started off pretty great, but as soon as we pulled away to see Pete’s “stunt double,” I got sad and began to lose interest. I figured that a cool video of P-dizzle falling would’ve been excellent to get lost in, but the simple effects unfortunately let me down. Even discovering it’s genesis from that old school flash game Falling Girl still didn’t satisfy me.
While this is just the right type of light video for the song, I’m left unsure as to whether the shot was supposed to give us that cheesy effect or if it was the result of a lack of ability/funds/equipment. I don’t hate the shot, i’m just a little disappointed.
