God dammit if I don’t love video games and Cadence Weapon aka Rollie Pemberton is a damn fine rapper to boot. So when this ex-Fork staffer dropped this ode to classic gaming for his song ‘Shark’, I thought hot damn. With the help of Chris Grismer & Duane Chrichton, they embark on a melange of classic gaming icons like Donkey Kong, Frogger, Rampage and Double Dragon. There is even dancing men in nice tight yellow get-ups, frolicking under trees (not sure what game that is). The video is top-notch viewing and fits perfectly to Rollie’s lackadaisical yet fierce style of rap; shit, through some D’s on it and you got yourself a stew going. Holla.

So
Ben Dickinson has rolled up to the hood again, this time flanked by

Get Myself Into It” and “
WAYUH” weren’t anything to really sneeze at either.

They do this on AOL Music via some sub-label called Spinner with translates as “pathetic grab for edginess”. AOL music hates AOL because AOL doesn’t stand for music. So, instead, Spinner stands for music via AOL. Self-loathing facet 1: self-loathing is always accompanied by an identity crisis.

If your name happens to be
Robin Brown and you are an ungrateful filmmaker/
internet radio shock-jock then it has probably
occurred to you that we apparently pay no attention to danceparty creationist
LCD Soundsystem within the confines of this site.
Also, if your name happened to be
Robin Brown, you’d actually be right and successfully called us out on not showcasing a collection of some of the smarter, groovier musicians on the indie circuit.
