The Maccabees - First Love (Live/Acoustic) at Shots Ring Out

So where the fuck is the hype on the Maccabees. A quick gander at the hype-machine tells us that only three blogs in the past six months have made any mention of them. I do know that their actual video for First Love had garnered them some notice from places like d’ville and other video devotes, but in the music sphere, no one seems to care. So, let me tell you then that you should.

The single for First Love has just dropped in Europe and they have another three song release entitled Latchmere which is available at fine download sites like emusic and Itunes this very second. The question remains though, where is the blog world on this one? Maybe they didn’t get an email about it so they don’t know to post. Possibly too busy worrying about what the Fork thought of their favorite band, then talking/whining about it like it matters on their site. Maybe they just can’t get around to every band out there, but I doubt that because of the 5 billion mp3 blogs, you would think that this late in the Maccabees game, more than three of them would have posted (the exception being The Rocksuckers / Indie mp3 / Eardrum). But I do thank them because this way I get to tell you about how good they are first (well almost); who would have thought SRO had good taste in music too?

Anyway, basically what we have to say is simple: you should listen to this band now! They are definitely worth your love/money/admiration and to prove it we offer this acoustic performance of their single First Love, from some british version of MTV, and I dare you to dismiss it. It is beautiful, plain and simple. Also included are a few mp3’s to help you on your way to the path of the enlightened.
