Okay, so it’s the Monday, less than a week before X-mas, and shopping, finals, and deadlines are looming amongst your atmosphere. Why not take a sec before you start, grab a glass of milk, maybe make a PB & J sandwich (to get in the mood) and take a gander at what monsieur Reggie left us back in ‘03.
Off of the album Under the Tray…, we found our boy, James Dewees, continually toying with us in the then side-project, just prior to the demise of the late-great Get Up Kids and his eventual divorce. Optimistic, yet still rebellious against taking music so seriously, he charmed his way into our hearts with his stories of food, dancing, REG DICUS’D, Canadian spelling/pronounciation, REG DICUS’D, a drunk chick, and of course Luv.
Now-a-days, however, we’ve seen him take on the role of Reggie full-time and make the ’serious’ crossover from reckless upstart to gritty cynic. After both momentus events its hard to blame him for following such a path, nonetheless, we have here the perfect fossil that exhibits his trailmix bag of humor, lightness, and fun via the shot for CS&K.
A tale of innocence, torn at the seams by a forbidden love. Can it survive in a world without hope? An era soaked in harsh times? Will love triumph over the pitfalls of authority? Will I shut the fuck up about a silly video yet? Only time will tell…
