Beck – Cell Phone’s Dead/Soldier Jane

I’m having a lazy problem. How do I post Beck’s lazy new videos in a lazier fashion than just embedding a shitty YouTube video. Seriously, how do you top that? That’s lazy perfection.
How about completely stealing stereogum’s post about the videos. Word for word. Yeah, that’ll do. I’m bringing lazyback. Here we go:
['Gum begins here]
“Cell Phone’s Dead” here.
“Soldier Jane” here.
Four word review: more of the same. But we suppose that’s the point. In fact, maybe we’ve seen these already and are getting confused? Anyway, we’re especially psyched for the proper video for “Cell Phone” by Michel Gondry. Director File reveals a tiny bit about the treatment.
” [It takes place] in a small New York apartment. It’s a bit run down and, at first glance, looks simple. Through the window, we see an adjacent ominous building. The room has a 50’s era film noir feel to it. Additionally, everything we see is black and white.”
It looks more interesting than it sounds:

And stream the whole album at AOL. Stickers not included.
['Gum ends here]
And when did Sterogum start linking to other sites? Were you in on this, Kevin? I smell conspiracy. Or payola. Mostly jealousy.
Either way go check out Directors-File if you love Michel Gondry or Chris Cunningham or DOS.

Beats me. Frankly I’m just about ready to post the whole treatment, but I’m gonna wait til the video is officially released. I think next time I’ll post a little bit more of the treatment beforehand.. First time for everything, I guess.
Oh, and we didn’t exchange money, just dirty looks.
Maybe Beck has a 12 year old girl in film school. Let’s hope.
