The adorableness power of Mates of State is a well known entity within those in the sphere of indie music. Hell, I caught wind of it and it made me buy all of their albums and see them live at least twice (yet I still crave for more). Well, believe it or not, they’ve upped their power with the addition of Cute Incarnate…their offspring daughter, Magnolia (damn, even her name is cute as hell!) Along with that they’re still touring off of their most recent release Bring it Back. While it isn’t all that was the behemoth of Team Boo it’s still a gem.
Now they’ve teamed together with a one, Mr. Robo Shobo, who is truly a jack among trades. A blogger. An artist. A T-shirt designer. An animator. He’s even an armchair philosopher (I don’t have a site link for that one, but just read some of his t-shirt blogs, you’ll see, plus I’m sure he’ll have a site up for that soon, ya know, just cuz he can.) And if you’re still unimpressed by Mr. Roboshobo it should be noted that he has also done work for bands like Frausdots, Holopaw, and Mars Volta. Fools got street cred and skillz, Step Up! Go be his friend (hey, while you’re at it, be ours too!) and he’ll love you to pieces.
Anywhoo, this black and white throwback of a shot takes our couple into outerspace courtesy of an intergalactic zeppelin. I get a Tonight, Tonight feel from it, without the huge budget. And though it also has that Hindenburg/Titanic sense of tragedy, I’m still warmed by lyrics that go “I cant wait to say all the things you can’t see that make you better. I like you crazy.” I know just what they’re saying, and now I wanna see them play live again.

hm the thing with this video. I liked it and thought it was cute, but at the same time, i didn’t mind looking away. And i could’ve easily been watching something else. But i definitely like videos that have little stories that go along with it, and this had one. So it gets my stamp of approval!
