Wolf Parade - I’ll Believe in Anything
(Matt Moroz)

WOLFPARADE

“I’ll Believe in Anything” from Apologies to the Queen Mary from media darlings Wolf Parade. Oh hell yes. “I’ll Believe in Anything” is arguably the greatest song on that record so it’s great to see it get some video love. The SRO crew just saw Wolf Parade at The Wiltern in LA and they were fantastic. When Spencer puts on the headband you know the Parade are killing it. You also know the Parade are killing it when Los drunkenly sneaks into the floor section and proceeds to make rap hands for the band’s whole set. Good times.

For the video, Matt Moroz seems to have raided the set of Marie Antoniette and pilfered their wardrobe trailer in order to take us back to an era of duels and white wigs. [Visit Shots Ring Out to read the rest…]

Tapes ‘n Tapes - Cowbell
(Carolyn London)

New Tapes ‘n Tapes, this time for Cowbell off the beloved Insistor. Unfortunately, only a Real stream is available right now. Dear XL recordings: you get praise for listing the directors of the videos on your site and you are a great label with great bands and all, but nobody is feeling Real or WMV streams anymore. This isn’t 1999. What if this video had badminton in it? We’re working on finding some better video options. [Visit Shots Ring Out to read the rest…]

Yunyu - Lenore’s Song
(Tahnee McGuire)

Cute, morbid pop; that’s how Yunyu roles. She is a self described unsigned Australian-Singaporean singer-songwriter who loves her anime, comics, and horror movies. Enlisting the help of producer Matt Carter, cinematographer Callan Green (Lord Of The Rings) and Trish Cahill (Superman Returns), 16,000 photos were turned

Outkast - Morris Brown
(Bryan Barber)

Bright colors, flowers with faces, amusement parks, and yet no Andre 3000. What’s Outkast without Andre 3000? Someone go see Idlewild and let me know what’s going on with that.

The Long Winters - Fire Island, AK
(Bex Schwartz)

New-ish video from the Long Winters, from their new release Putting the Days to Bed. Get it while it’s hot. Why don’t record labels like to give directors credit? Why do I always have to hunt for this information? I’m going to make some calls and I’ll get back to you on that one.

The Format - The Compromise
(Bryan Lee)

The video for the Format’s The Compromise off their new album Dog Problems has just dropped. Do I even need to tell you when the videos feature stop-motion anymore? From now on, I’ll just mention when the videos don’t have stop-motion. It will be easier on all of us.
