So we all can agree that it’s not cool to like Mates of State anymore, right? Yeah I know you have most of their albums and you may have even bought that new one but their downhill slide is becoming too apparent to ignore. Well kids I’m here to help out. If you miss that raw, unbridled energy and unsure vocals that was peppered throughout early Mates of State then Matt and Kim are for you. Their album is still in the popcorn machine and is being mastered and mixed and stuff, so there is still time to hitch your wagon to theirs. This video is great because there is blood. You don’t see much blood in music videos today and everyone could use more blood. Obviously the director was a video game designer in the 90’s or just watched Blade one too many times, but either way job well done Colin Devin Moore. Come get it kids, the triangle is a jangling!

    Remember that band Veronica from 2001-ish? They sounded like poppy-emo-keyboard good times and it was very apparent that the guy/girl singing were having fun but pretty much sucked at singing? I’m just saying.

    I’m surprised we don’t see more videos where the premise is to find some way to have your friends come over and have a party and make a video out of it. Yes Los, I’m staring at you right now.

    Oh yeah. Im savvy to the horrid singing. It’s still catchy though. Plus the blood, oh the glorious blood. The singer told me it took them longer to bleach and paint their practice space after the shoot, than it took them to actually film it. I’m looking at you too Carlos.

    Um. I’m gonna have to agree with James… cause those vocals… they hurt my ears a tad bit.

    and the video, I’m not quite sure how I feel about it yet. strange. And slitting throats with forks is kind of… ew. But I did like the end when that one stud of a fan was trying so hard to continue rocking out, but he just didnt have it in him. It was kind of cute.
