Psapp is pronounced like ’sap’. The extra ‘p’s are obviously some sort of sleight of hand to make you forget that you have to go to a fucking MySpace page to hear the band’s music1. Psapp is another in the long line of boy-girl couples that capture our hearts, like Jack and Meg White, Sid and Nancy, the Dresden Dolls, the Mates of State, or Joanie and Chachi. In this case the couple is Carim Clasmann and Galia Durant. They kick out those adorable, electronic jams that I would never seek out but always seem to enjoy if they happen to find their way to me, much like boxes of chocolate. Yes, Psapp are like musical boxes of chocolate.
I think they made the theme song to that show Grey’s Anatomy which may or may not mean they are some form of sell out. I can’t turn the TV on without hearing The Postal Service backing Kaiser Permanente, Calexico backing Adidas, Spoon backing Jaguar, or Wolf Parade backing Frosted Flakes2, so I just gave up caring. Galia drew all the pictures you see in this animated video. I like animated videos. Psapp say they like to make songs with little noises poking out. I say they are freebasing crazy.
Some guy in Jr. High used to always ask me “Where the hell are the dancing cats?” Well good sir, here they are.
- To all bands who don’t let me download a track to sample, but instead give the option to go to a MySpace page to get a stream: Stop. Just stop. Sincerely, the world.
- I made that last one up, but it’s inevitable.

so I think I love this video. It makes me chuckle like a little girl with a sugar high.
I was going to mention the Greys Anatomy fact but you beat me to it.. but indeed they do sing that song.
That video is fucking fantastic. My favorite part is when the family portraits in the hallway are moved a little and they reveal the clean wall behind them. Now that’s details, and paying attention to details mean you give a shit, and we definitely need more people who give a shit. Apathy is ruining everything, everything except this video that is. This shiz is hot.
The video is fucking adorable but the song is too! The only drawback is that it gets in your head, but the cute cooing and squealing is hard to sing.
It has led to James and me battling over who can do a better “paooo~*pahoo~~!.”
